SUPER COMING ATTRACTIONS VOL .I
Super Coming Attractions (the Film Club) retruned to
Film and cinema are the fabrication of a reality as on-screen entertainment. The settings, scenarios, and relationships formed in a picture are reflections and alterations, subversions and speculations, and constructed narrations of how the world can be seen.
Super Coming Attractions (the Film Club), in its four edition, will host and screen films to the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Architecture (UIC SoA), showcasing architectural, societal, and political possibilities through the medium of film.
Members will consist of students from the UIC SoA. As screenings will be held within the Arts and Architecture Building, the Film Club welcomes students from the UIC School of Design, in an effort to connect and collectivize the student body.
Screenings will be held on the first and third Thursday of each month (with the possibility of additional screens should interest warrent.) Screenings on the first Thursday of the month will be proposed by faculty members regarding the syllabus of their respective courses (curriculum adjacent screening). In doing this, it will give an opportunity for assigned coursework to be available to a broader audience, while providing a collective screening for the students of that session’s film. On the third Thursday of the month, films can be proposed by the club members with little to no overt architectural connection.

Scripts for Scenes 1-9
Each scene’s script was placed into a reader offering the choice to read its dialogue within minutes or watch the film in its entirety—inverting our contemporary relationship with media. In this case one (reading) is more expedient, but the other (watching) is more fulfilling. Both are valid versions of the work.
